United Composite Materials, LLC will open a new 70,000 sqft manufacturing facility at 1446 S Buncombe Rd in Greer later this year to produce composite materials for sports, leisure, aerospace, marine, defense, space and automotive markets (a collaboration with Engineered Textile Solutions and Associates LLC and Hankuk Carbon). It will employ about 50 people.

Greenville County Schools Board approved a $220,000 purchase of 2.4 acres at 176 Woodside Rd. in Simpsonville to support its Long-Range Facilities Plan Tuesday night; its next meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct.
