Starting today, South Carolina's two-year Healthy Food SC project bars SNAP benefits from buying candy, energy drinks, and sugar-sweetened sodas at every SNAP-approved store; diet and zero-sugar sodas remain eligible (the Department of Social Services will post updates for retailers and households).
