South Carolina raised the homestead exemption to $75,000 for the 2026 tax year, increasing the exempt portion of eligible owner-occupied home values from $50,000 to $75,000; homeowners 65+ who haven't applied can file a one-page form with their county auditor by Jan. 15 to get a revised bill or refund.
